A 2010 graduate of George Washington High School is missing from his Oregon university.
Luke Atkinson, 21, a sophomore at Corban University in Salem, has been missing for about five days, according to a missing persons report.
Television news KATU in Portland said Atkinson was last seen on Wednesday by his roommate who told school officials Luke Atkinson had been sick with flu-like symptoms.
Greg Atkinson, Luke Atkinson's father, said relatives in Oregon are putting up missing person signs.
"We're praying for him and hoping that he's OK," Greg Atkinson said, adding that he appreciates the prayers and encouragement the family has received from the community.
Luke Atkinson's Facebook page has many posts from friends praying for his safe return.
Luke Atkinson is a member of the school's cross country team. However, he reportedly did not meet up with his cross country team Friday evening or Saturday morning for a competition.
Greg Atkinson said his family is working with university officials who are searching local roads where his son was known to run.
The Salem Police Department is not actively searching for him off campus because they have found no signs of foul play, according to KATU.
Greg Atkinson is asking anyone who had contact with his son recently to contact the family or Salem police.

HOW TO HELP
Anyone who has had recent contact with Luke Atkinson is asked to contact:
•Salem police:  503-589-8152
•Family on Guam: email atkinson.team@gmail.com
